‘Black Stars still needs your support’- Asamoah Gyan’s desperate cry ahead of Iceland friendly

Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan has encouraged Ghanians to continue to get behind the Black Stars ahead of their international friendly against Iceland tonight inspite of the trouble looming over the Ghana Football Association.

Most Ghanaians seem disinterested in today’s match scheduled at the 15,000 capacity Laugardalsvöllur Stadium in Reykjavik in the wake of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ latest expose on Ghana Football dubbed “Number 12” which was Premiered on Wednesday.

The documentary which captures several top GFA officials including GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, Greater Accra Regional FA boss, Eddie Doku, Eastern Regional FA boss, A. A. Lawal and 77 Ghanaian referees engaging in various acts of corruption has left the nation stunned.

However the Kayserispor forward who is out of the latest squad due to injury in a series of tweets, pleaded with Ghanaians to support their country regardless and trust that the appropriate authorities will deal with the issues.

Coach Kwesi Appiah is using the friendly as a perfect opportunity to test some of the newcomers ahead of the AFCON qualifier against Kenya in September.
